Biography

Personal History

Dr Carolyn Webb is based in London, where she works as a research fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute.

 

Academic History

Carolyn studied physiology as an undergraduate at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Then she went on to obtain her PhD in education at Imperial College London. 

 

Career Overview

Carolyn Webb is a research fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. 

Her work focuses on the effects of hormones such as oestrogen and testosterone on coronary vasomotion, blood flow, myocardial ischemia and angina. Dr Webb is currently researching patient-based investigation of coronary flow and control mechanisms in coronary artery disease and microvascular angina, incorporating coronary artery imaging, coronary flow measurement and vascular function.1

Finalist: Young Investigator Award competition at the American College of Cardiology annual scientific Sessions.
